Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mohol organized Long Duration Skill Development Training programme on Agriculture Extension Service Provider of 200 hrs. under PMKVY in collaboration with Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mohol during 24 February -19 March, 2020.

Seed Processing Worker (AGR/Q7102)

2. Importance of the job role in your district
Skill Development Training Programme on “Seed processing worker” will create employment generation opportunities in “Seed processing sector industries” for the trainee participants. It will also promote entrepreneurship development for establishment of seed processing unit as an individual entrepreneur / farmers club or Famers producer organization activity in order to meet huge seed demand of the district.
3. Selection of trainees
The training details were communicated to youth, school dropouts and farmers of KVK, Mohol jurisdiction through linkages of KVK. The 20 trainee participants were selected after scrutinizing their application details with specific consideration to age, educational qualification, interest, current job status / profile and formal interview as per the guidelines.
4. Aspects covered during theory and practical classes
- Cleaning and Drying of seeds
- Seed sampling and testing
- Seed treatment with Chemicals
- Packaging and Labelling of Seeds
- Seed Storage
- Safety of work environment
5. Exposure visits organized
Exposure visit and practical sessions were organized at Seed Processing Unit, MPKV, Rahuri during 03-10 March, 2017 in order to get acquainted with through aspects of seed processing and testing.
6. Feed back of the trainees
- Specific skills on seed production and processing are achieved through this skill development training programme.
- Practical exposure at Seed Processing Unit, MPKV, Rahuri will certainly prove beneficial while at actual workplace.
7. Benefits accrued to the trainees post training
After successful completion of this training, skill based job opportunities will be available and preference will be ascertain in Rojgar Melavas by means of certificate course.

2. Importance of the job role in your district
“Dairy Farmer / Entrepreneur” is able to efficiently start and manage a dairy farm, construct and maintain shed for cattle depending upon resources availability, prepare feed ration and give recommended feed and water for livestock, considering feed requirement and feed nutrient composition, maintain health of livestock along with productivity, vaccination of cattle and effectively marketing of dairy products, ensure clean and hygienic management of dairy farm.
After successful completion of this training programme, participants will be able to start and maintain dairy farm scientifically and develop ability to manage feeding schedule as per category of livestock and follow clean milk production activities. Employment generation opportunities in big dairy units.
